Happy birthday to our fabulous principal, Ms. Campbell! She received a special birthday serenade this morning by 4th and 5th graders and then was presented a Happy Birthday poster made by the students! She received many other handmade cards throughout the day as well, many of which included drawings of her cat "Buddy".

Attention parents of 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders. PTO is sponsoring a dance on Friday, January 27th , after school from 3 to 5 p.m. Permission forms for this event are due tomorrow, January 20th, so PTO will know how much food to order.

Free internet connections through June 30, 2023, are still available for eligible Greenbrier County Schools households. Any GCS families who have NOT received a letter with information about a free internet connection are encouraged to call the technology office at 304-647-6484 to check to see if they are eligible.

Planning is underway for the 2023-2024 school calendar! We invite parents, students, staff, and community members to complete a brief online school calendar survey at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/RXHKD9V. The survey closes on Friday, January 20. Calendar options and a planning guide are available at https://www.greenbriercountyschools.org/page/school-calendar-planning. GCS will host a public forum regarding the calendar on February 14 at 5:30 p.m. and March 14 at 5:30 p.m. at the Kyle & Ann Fort Arts & Sciences Building on the campus of New River CTC. The 2023-2024 school calendar will be presented for approval at the regular meeting of the board of education on March 14.

Happy New Year from Greenbrier County Schools! Schools are closed in observance of the holiday. We look forward to welcoming students back to school on Tuesday, January 3,.


Pre-K through 4th grade students will be bringing home tablets that were purchased by Greenbrier County Schools. These tablets are to be kept at home and students may use them to reinforce basic skills. Please do not throw away the box because the charger and a letter are inside. Any questions about these tablets, please contact the GCS Technology Department at 304-647-6484.

Wishing our students, staff, and community a very merry Christmas! Please remember Tuesday, December 20, is the last school day before the holiday break. Wednesday, December 21, is a Professional Learning & Faculty Senate Day for staff. The winter break begins Thursday, December 22, and runs through Monday, January 2. School reconvenes on Tuesday, January 3. Enjoy a restful holiday break!


This is a reminder that there will be a holiday music program tomorrow, Thursday December 15th, at 6:00pm, here at White Sulphur Springs Elementary school for all 4th and 5th grade students. The doors will open at 5:30pm. Students are to wear holiday themed attire or Western cowboy themed attire.
Please note that if school is on a delay schedule tomorrow due to inclement weather, we will still have the program, however if school is closed the program will be rescheduled for a later date.
