3-D Doodle Pen Practice

Greenbrier County Schools is in its fifth year of offering a 21st CCLC After-School Program at six elementary school locations, including Alderson, Ronceverte, Frankford, White Sulphur Springs, Lewisburg, and Rupert. In the past five years, the program has served 874 students with an average daily attendance of 195 students. During this 2-hour after-school program, students are engaged in homework help, physical fitness and wellness, STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math), and provided dinner. Parents, students, and staff appreciate this programming and want it to continue.

With that goal in mind, Greenbrier County Schools shares this Notification of Intent to apply for a 21st CCLC After-School Grant. We want to continue the program at these six schools and add two additional sites at Crichton and Smoot. The focus will be on quality tutoring sessions with targeted students. Either dinner or snacks will be offered at all sites. Other program sessions include homework help/online practice in Math and ELA, Physical Fitness, STEAM, and Wellness. Parent and community involvement is integral to the program's success, and parents and community members are regularly invited to attend, participate in, and lead sessions for students.

Greenbrier County Schools partners with organizations such as WVU Extension, Community in Schools, and Carnegie Hall to present after-school programming. We welcome other community businesses or volunteers. The application will be available for review after submission.
